Cocotoo
To successfully transform a huge railway arch into a popular Italian restaurant you need gusto and vision. Fortunately, the friendly people behind Manchester’s Cocotoo have plenty of both. What’s most distinctive about this wonderfully over-the-top venue is its beautiful arched ceilings – colourful domes are painted with spectacular replicas of Sistine Chapel frescoes. Twinkly lights, a happy crowd and water features contribute further to a memorable night out. Reliably fresh pasta, pizzas and well-made Italian classics are prepared in full view in an open kitchen. Cocotoo is very much a stalwart of the city’s thriving restaurant scene, great for pre-theatre suppers if you're visiting the nearby Palace, and a favourite venue for showbiz parties.
